Chapter 8
I played a few hours on the game, but my eyelids grew heavy. I turned off the console and lights and climbed into the silk sheets covering Max’s bed. I fluffed up the pillow and laid down on my back with my sword on my chest. My tail was awkward for lying on my back, but I had become use to it. I closed my eyes, with my hands holding my sword across my chest, and sleep took me. The dream started like usual, with me standing in the throne hall of Eros. I turned towards his throne knowing he would appear in a moment. I waited, but he didn’t come. I moved forward, closer to his throne, and then he appeared between his throne and me. “Hello Achillia.”
I dropped to my knees in front of him. “Eros.”
He was incredibly handsome, but that came as no surprise since he was the son of Aphrodite and Ares, but I forgot how handsome he was when I didn’t see him for a while. His long blonde hair hung freely, the way I liked it, and he wore only a pair of jeans, showing off his muscular upper body.
He picked me up and caressed my cheek. “I miss you, Achillia. I miss your face, your smell, and your laughter ringing in the halls.”
I stood and rested my hand on the center of his chest. His skin was hot and it made me shiver in delight. “I miss you as well. I miss Olympus.”
He pulled me against him and kissed my lips while running his hand along the top of my right arm. My skin prickled and then stung. I pulled back from him and looked at the new tattoo on my shoulder. “A tiger?”
He smiled. “His name is Ennio. Just say his name and he’ll assist you.”
I ran my finger down the tiger’s back and heard and felt him purring. “You chose a cat on purpose!”
He ran his hand along my horns. “I am a jealous god.”
“You know that I am yours, but would you have me live alone?”
He sighed. “I have already told you that I agree to your alliance with the werewolf pack due to their honoring Apollo, but I do not enjoy seeing your affection for this alpha wolf.”
I ran my hand down his stomach and whispered, “I will work harder at finding the barrier’s entrance, so I can return.”
He smiled down at me. “I know your feelings for the wolf. Do not forget who I am. Would you prefer to stay with him?”
I stared at him. “Is this a test?”
He ran his hand down my cheek. “Just think about what you want. You are my favorite, and I want you happy. Oh, by the way, you’re being attacked.”
He waved as I was pulled away from him and the throne room. Attacked? I opened my eyes and found my sword pressed to the throat of a warlock whose hand was inches from my face. I kicked him back and inhaled, awakening my power.
